Frequently Asked Questions for New Hires

return to topHow do I know what benefits I am eligible for as a PAIRE employee?

Regular employees working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for group health benefits through PAIRE. All regular employees are eligible to contribute to the PAIRE Retirement Plan (401k). For detailed explanations regarding benefit eligibility refer to the PAIRE Employee Handbook.

You will find this information on the PAIRE HR webpage (www.paire.org/hr) within the category, New Hires and the page heading of Benefits. Under this heading, you will find The TriNet Signature Handbook which gives detailed information regarding the benefit plans offered through TriNet/PAIRE.

You will also find information listed separately regarding our 401(k) Plan. This plan is not accessible via the hrpassport website. The web address for our retirement plan is www.retirement.standard.com.

Your benefits are effective upon your date of hire (start date).

return to topHow do I elect my benefits?

You will receive an e-mail from our employer of record, TriNet on your date of hire. This e-mail will contain all of the information you will need to log on to TriNet’s secure website www.hrpassport.com. You will have 30 days to elect your benefits on hrpassport.

return to topWhere will my on-boarding meeting take place?

Your on-boarding meeting will take place in the PAIRE suite located within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System on the 2nd floor of Building 101. The suite number is A2-210. We are the last suite on the right side of the building before you cross into Building 100.

return to topWhere do I park on the campus?

You may park in Lot 101, Lot 4, Lot 4A, and Lot H1. Note: There may be changes to on-campus parking due to construction. If you are unsure as to where to park on campus, contact PAIRE’s Human Resources Department at hr@paire.org.

return to topWhat other things may I take care of via hrpassport?

You can elect direct deposit for your payroll check through www.hrpassport.com. You may also check your earnings statements, paid leave balance, and you may check/change your taxable allowance(s).

In addition, you may print your W-2 Form at the beginning of each calendar year. Click on the link to your earnings statements and you will find the W-2 Form at the top of the page.

return to topWhat is PAIRE’s relationship with TriNet?

PAIRE and TriNet have a co-employment relationship. TriNet is responsible for handling our payroll and benefits; pay statements or live pay checks, as appropriate, are sent from TriNet so be sure to pay attention when you receive an envelope from TriNet.

You may contact TriNet’s Solution Center via telephone between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. PST at 1-800-638-0461. You may also contact them via e-mail at employees@trinet.com.

Yes; our representative from TriNet comes out the first Tuesday of each month to review information regarding your employment status and benefits.

It is held within the PAIRE office in the Media Conference Room (Suite A2-230).

return to topHow will I know what the specific duties and responsibilities of my position will be?

After you have gone through the PAIRE on-boarding process on your first day of work, you will receive a scanned copy of your official job description listing this information. Please retain this copy for your records.

return to topI understand that all PAIRE employees must have an approved Without Compensation (WOC) appointment through the VA. How do I find out more about this process?

You may find out more about the WOC appointment process by clicking on the Current Employees page of the PAIRE website www.paire.org/hr and reading the information pertaining to the WOC appointment.
